PDC matrix body drill bits and tricone bits both can be used in water well drilling and oil exploration,but they have big difference.

PDC matrix body drill bit is always used to drill deep water well and it is suitable for soft to medium hard rock formations. It just can drill simple rocks.
Tricone bit can be used in any condition. Especially in hard rocks. But it is also easy broken in extremely hard rocks. For extremely hard rocks, DTH bit is also a good choice.
